A warm welcome and thanks for visiting us here!

Jim & Kathy publicity edit One of the unavoidable truths in this life is that there is no perfect human being. Having the privilege of being raised by a great mom and a great dad, or marrying a great spouse still cannot guarantee a life without struggles and issues on a relational level. The human heart is deep and complicated, and if you add to your journey the dynamic of hurting, damaged individuals, a fallen kingdom, and an enemy of our souls, there is, quite frankly, no one who does not benefit from some solid, Biblical counseling at some time or another. In addition, for those who have experienced abusive or difficult relationships, or trauma, disappointment, and loss, God has provided answers to our needs. We, at Simple Grace, are prepared to work alongside our clients to identify and resolve problems and hurts so that the journey can be restored to peace, joy and intimacy, with one another and with God. Please browse through our website to discover more about Simple Grace Ministries, and Jim and Kathy Hitch, and how we structure our counseling to meet the needs of our clients. You can call just to ask questions or reach a compassionate heart. We are real people who care. We will be happy to schedule a counseling time for you.

A warm welcome and thanks for visiting us here!

A Hearty Welcome to Spring!

After weathering the Estes Park 1,000-year storm last September while our family was on a retreat, and after being confined to our Birmingham hotel in January for days Jim & Kathy Publicityduring the snow and ice storm instead of ministering at Alabama prisons, it is a pleasure to welcome spring to the windy Midwest!

Counseling, conferences and speaking engagements have broken up the long winter for us. We have visited the snowy mountains of Wisconsin and the balmy shores of New Orleans, along with friendly folks in Mississippi and Alabama. It should not surprise us to experience consistent and impossible restorations and healings in marriages and family relationships, but the faithful power and gentleness of the Lord are always humbling and heartwarming. We are pleased to be sharing at an Oakland, Nebraska Conference this coming weekend (March 21-23) and invite you to look at the schedule for upcoming events.

Feel free to browse through our website and contact us if you have any questions or would like to speak to Jim or me (Kathy). We are real people who care.

Autumn Ministry Updates

Jim & Kathy PublicityRecently, God chose to give a small, obscure rural ministry, Simple Grace, an international scope by using it to offer His love and assistance not only within American borders, but also beyond. Couples and individuals from Alabama, Missouri, Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas, Colorado, Manitoba Canada, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and many cities here in Nebraska, have recently spent time in our little office. In addition, we have ministered in Alabama, Minnesota, Iowa and Nebraska this year through conferences and personal counseling follow-up. These precious people have found Christ-centered healing, truth, forgiveness and counseling for the restoration of damaged relationships that they were unable to resolve without ministry assistance. Our little office has become a birthing center for nine newborn babes in Christ over the past year! Great, God-breathed works have been accomplished because Simple Grace Ministries was available for ministry to the hurting. We, as a ministry and as friends, appreciate the opportunities so deeply. It is a mission of love, and sacrifice, made possible only through God and the support of His servants. On June 1st, we opened our own office in the little town of Martell. Privacy and a rural background make for a peaceful setting for our clients to pursue solutions to their problems without interruptions. Our friends at the ...

The Seasons Change. . . . .

The autumn season is fully upon us here in Nebraska, and we are excited that God also ushers in new seasons in our walk with Him and our relationships with those we love. It has been humbling and inspiring to witness the personal love and care that Jesus shows to those who are seeking His redemption from pain and strife and confusion and sin. He is amazing! Looking ahead, Jim is planning to be a speaker at the ReNew Hope Prison Crusade coming up in Alabama in January. Then we have scheduled a conference entitled "It's Never Too Late To Live Happily Ever After," to share the principles of Biblical healing and heart-restoration, for the weekend of February 1-2, 2013. Grace Fellowship in Atmore, Alabama, is hosting the Friday evening, Saturday daytime conference. Everyone is welcome to attend. If you would like to receive a brochure, please let us know, or give us a call. Jim has counseling sessions scheduled for several weeks in the Alabama/Florida areas during January and February. If you, or someone you know would like to schedule a week of counseling during that time, we will remain in the Florida area throughout the month of February. As couples participate in a counseling week, we often recommend a retreat time away from the familiar ...

Jim was recently “ecstatically” welcomed as a Caring For The Heart Ministries  associate by the Board of Directors of that ministry, under which he completed his counseling training and internship. John Regier is the founder of Caring For The Heart Ministries, a gifted and proficient leader in the field of Biblical Counseling.  Jim has been counseling/coaching clients here in Nebraska, and we are honored to affiliate with CFTH and participate in the comprehensiveness of the ministry’s wisdom, experience and resources. We are  continuing our ministry as Simple Grace Ministries, keeping our focus on Jesus Christ and the purpose He proclaimed for Himself in Luke 4:18: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed.” (KJV) Our hearts are deeply burdened for people who are hurting and who need to experience healing and freedom in their personal relationships.  Our commitment is to assist couples (including premarital counseling), individuals and families resolve spiritual, emotional and relational problems through Biblical principles.  The ministry of Jesus was focused on the hearts of those He encountered as He walked here among us.  We believe Jesus, through the Holy Spirit, is still profoundly concerned ...

Ministry Changes on the Horizon

March 19, 2011 Beloved, It’s been a while since I have written a Simple Grace Update, and it is certainly time to be in touch with you!  The Hitch family is home from our winter tour to the states of Alabama, Georgia, the Carolinas, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas.  Our time on the road was enriched by a fulfilling prison crusade in Alabama’s prisons, with very heartfelt responses from inmates in every facility we visited.  Jim shared a message about the ministry of Jesus in healing broken hearts with inmates and volunteers during the We Care Prison Crusade, and God touched hearts on both sides of the fence (literally).  It was an enormous privilege to minister in every church that God gave us opportunity across the southeast, and we treasured the moments! Our ministry has carried for us a bittersweet flavor over the past months, as we prepare to give our daughter, Avery, away in marriage on May 7th.   She is marrying Warren Jennings, from central Nebraska, and we are all thrilled to welcome Warren into our family.  Our son, Lucas, is preparing to move to Colorado in May also, to pursue music as a solo artist and to continue to develop his web design business, Oleander Web Design, on a full-time basis.  These changes are exciting ...
